Those of us who live in the Midwest are used to the tornado watches and warnings that come with spring time. Recently though, several twisters have torn through and taken away lives and property on a massive scale. We’re proud to pass on the word that the Harley-Davidson Foundation has made a size-able donation to help out the victims of these recent disasters.
The Harley-Davidson Foundation donates $100,000 to support recent natural disaster relief efforts in U.S.
MILWAUKEE (June 6, 2011) – Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE:HOG) today announced a $100,000 donation from The Harley-Davidson Foundation to the American Red Cross to support relief efforts following the flooding and tornadoes that occurred in the U.S., including Missouri, Alabama and Oklahoma. The Foundation has earmarked $50,000 of the donation to support efforts in Joplin, Missouri. The remaining $50,000 will support the Red Cross’ General Disaster Relief Fund.
“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this recent devastation,” said Tonit Calaway, Harley-Davidson, Inc. Vice President and President of The Harley-Davidson Foundation. “We are proud to make this donation and help provide relief during this unfortunate time.”
