You are out on your bike, you’ve ridden to …. , gone inside to grab a quick such and such, only to come back out and discover thieves have helped themselves to the gear stowed in your bag or worse yet, the entire bag or bags? Securing a motorcycle and its contents is not an easy task. One of the most vulnerable aspects of our beloved motorcycles is the saddlebags. With no mounting lock installed from the factory, thieves know if they are successful in removing the bags, the bounty inside could be worth more than the bags themselves. One company, Brukus Motorcycle Parts, available through K and G Cycles(www.kandgcycles.com) offers a product that brings piece of mind to your travels, as well as a solution to stop the thieves. SaddlebagSecure by Brukus makes saddlebag locks that fit hard and soft bags from Victory and Yamaha Motorcycles.
Brukus Motorcycle Parts shows just how quickly your bags can be stolen in this Promo Video. Scarey is the only word I can think to say. Especially since we all know what we keep in them. Designed by Brukus Motorcycle Parts, SaddlebagSecure prevents this by replacing the Quick Release System and securing your bags to your bike. One thing you will notice is the difference in how firmly your bags now ride on the motorcycle. This also works to prevent your bags from coming loose and flying off while traveling down the road. SaddlebagSecure is licensed, patented and trademarked by Brukus Motorcycle Parts along with many other Security Products for your motorcycle. Don’t settle for an imitation. Brukus Motorcycle Parts leads the industry in Accessory Securing Products for your bike! That is why I use SaddlebagSecure on my personal motorcycle, a 2004 Harley Electra Glide Classic. – First in innovative ideas, quality and customer service!
This is a release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station in Los Angelos County California:
Palmdale Sheriff Station is warning motorcycle enthusiasts of a rash of thefts involving “Saddlebags.”
Over the past month Palmdale Station has had numerous thefts in which “Motorcycle Saddlebags” have been removed form motorcycles while parked in public areas. Detectives believe the suspects have familiarity with the mounting system of the saddlebags due to the short time frame the motorcycles are left unattended in the parking lots.
Palmdale Station is urging motorcycle owners to safeguard their motorcycle accessories by following these safety tips:
• Always remove the key from your ignition and keep your front fork locked.
• Garage your bike out of plain view whenever possible.
• If you have to park outdoors, do so in well-lit secure areas. Look for an outdoor security camera and park in its view if you can.
• Lock your bike to a stationary object, or to another motorcycle when traveling with others. Use high quality locking devices.
• Consider adding an audible alarm and/or tracking device.
• When parking in public, check your bike frequently.
• Always carry your registration and insurance with you when you ride, but keep your title at home or in another secure place.
Palmdale Station is also asking the community to report to the station any suspicious sales of motorcycle accessories at extremely discounted prices or questionable origins. People wishing to provide information about the thefts or possible stolen accessories can contact Lieutenant Kennedy at 661-272-2506. Individuals can also provide information anonymously through “Crime Stoppers” by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477), texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org.
